Preliminary Agenda 19 June 2019

Preliminary Agenda 20-21 June

"Innovative Enterprise Week Bucharest 2019" will be held on 19-21 June 2019 in Bucharest, the capital of Romania. The event is being co-organised by the European Commission, through DG CNECT and DG RTD, together with the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The conference will bring on the stage debates about how to bridge the gap from idea to investable project, how to support breakthrough innovations and the scale up potential with high risk for private investors.

Over the course of the three days, the conference will focus on three overarching topics for the next EU Research and Innovation Programme (2021-2027) – Horizon Europe:

  • Pathfinder
  • Accelerator
  • Financial Instruments

The event offers a timely opportunity to debate at high level the grand challenges of the new European Programme on bridging from science to technology to innovation and to raise the political profile of European Innovation Council and of the continuation of previous European programme supporting innovation and technology after few decades of success.

This event will be critical in helping us to ensure a smooth transition of our constituency from the Horizon 2020 to the new Horizon Europe, being a great opportunity to facilitate the collaboration, communication and exchange of experience between science, universities and business from different regions across Europe. It will enhance the interaction between participants to develop successful future projects and will stimulate the successful cooperation in Europe between public and private sectors. By presenting available and planned new instruments and initiating discussions for proposals regarding new policies and future steps to contribute to a higher impact and regional successful innovation, the event will promote new approach to partnerships in delivering innovation.

The conference is expected to gather an audience composed by political and policy decision-makers, scientists, researchers, innovators, early stage investors (e.g. business angels), opinion shaping actors etc. The event will feature highly experience speakers from EU and abroad who will address the hottest subjects in funding innovation today. The event will enable a wider participation of citizens and interested organisations in supporting and fostering the development of world-class innovation and science.
